PRESENTATION

This class aims at giving to students the basics in two different domains where modelling is used in life sciences:

  1. "Systems biology", or "large networks modelling" (C. Bécavin)
  2. Modelling of biochemical systems with differential equations (L. Counillon)

Course's manager(s)

Marc Bailly-Bechet

In class

  • 10h of lectures
  • 10h of practical work

PREREQUISITES

Before the start of the course, I must ...
  • know how to solve a first order differential equation, or a system of first order differential equations such as Lotka-Volterra
  • know which data can be gathered through omics approachs

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, I should be able to...
  • use differential equations to model biochemical and/or cellular systems
  • know how to reconstruct a biological network
  • understand the system approach in biology
  • know about different modelling techniques
